Message	you pulled the down pipes to see the exhaust side ? Did you do a head job with the engine rebuild ? I hade an engine do the same thing and all the #s looked good ( leak down and compression ) so i thought it had to be a valve guide leaking , turned out to be a wrist pin came loose and dug a large valley in my #5 cylinder . so check your #'s first and pull your down pipes for a look .
